Our client’s passion for cycling and the UCI world champions has been celebrated with joyful custom details featured within this suite of tailor-made furniture for a basement gym.

Birch plywood was chosen to bring warmth and tranquillity to the space, as the gym will be used for various types of exercise, including yoga. The space evokes a sense of calmness, combined with added personality. We showcase the exquisite layers of birch plywood, with the addition of colourful Formica stripes, to represent the sequence of the championship bands. 

A range of custom furniture was created for a giant feature pegboard, including a sports shoe rack, towel holders, and multi-sided shelving. The pegboard enables the family to curate their sports equipment and keeps it adaptable for longevity. A playful design element included colour-coordinated gym rings creatively used as towel holders. Custom, detailed leather straps with colourful stitching were especially crafted by local leather maker B18 in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham.
