Plot to Plate

Here we present our ‘plot to plate’ kitchen, a custom interior designed and made for our clients, a keen vegetarian cook and allotment holder.

We were challenged to maximise space, within this 1930s semi-detached house and considered how to link the hallway and kitchen areas.

The result is a calm and tranquil design showcasing beautiful birch plywood specifically selected for grain quality. This choice of materials creates an understated and timeless style.

Each cupboard has been individually handmade, designed to accommodate and hide kitchen appliances, this tight corner space includes a washing machine, dishwasher and ladder fridge. Further storage was created by introducing multi-functional mobile units that can double up as a kitchen island to extend the working area. The window reveal enhances the visual dynamic and can be utilised for display.

The kitchen area seamlessly blends into the hallway and under-stairs storage, the use of birch plywood simplifies the material palette here which gives the illusion of space, highlighting the material quality and grain pattern.
